It is a two hour drive from Thames to the Auckland Airport. Our flight departed at 2:50 PM, so we had time for a short detour. We chose to visit Hunua Falls, a picturesque waterfall in Hunua Ranges Regional park. After our visit, we continued to Auckland, ate some lunch, then boarded the plane back to America. We departed at 2:50 PM on Wednesday, and after a nineteen hour journey (which included a four-hour layover in Los Angeles) we landed in Seattle at 1 PM of the same day. Such is the magic of crossing the Date Line.
