Upper Geyser Basin The Upper Geyser Basin is the featured highlight of the park.
There are big spectacular geysers here, especially Old Faithful, plus plenty of pools and walking
paths. The main visitor center is here, and the Old Faithful Inn. You will want to stop here first,
pick up some literature about the park, and plan the rest of your trip. Of course, since Old
Faithful goes off every 90 minutes, you'll want to catch that highlight right away! You will probably
witness several eruptions of Old Faithful during your visit, it is certainly worth a second look. Black Sand Basin and Biscuit Basin are right next to the Old
Faithful Area. Lone Star Geyser is at the end of a flat 2.3 mile trail. We checked out all these sites
and of course recommend them all! For fifty cents at the visitor center, you can pick up The Old Faithful Trail
Guide. This little booklet has a map of the area, plus additional information. The maps I
show here only display sites that I refer to in the text or with photographs, but there is more
geothermal features than I have shown here (Yes, it's true! I didn't really take a photograph
of every single feature! Such restraint.) I partitioned this area into several smaller pages - there were too many picutes
and text to put on a single webpage, plus I didn't want it to take forever for you download all
this material. Hopefully, you find navigating this site straightforward.
