We always think of the aliens flying in theirs saucers, abducting people and carving weird symbols into cornfields. But obviously the aliens weren't always capable of such advanced feats, they must have evolved just like humans. At some point in time, the aliens must have had a middle ages, an age of rationalism, an era of exploration, and some alien had to build the first plane, fly in the first rocket. These drawings are from the Alien Middle Ages. How closely do they parallel humanity? An eerie thought....

I am not saying the aliens exactly mimic human history, they may not have had a Willalien Shakespeare (he's the conservatively dressed fellow second from the left) but surely the aliens had a Renaissance and Reformation!

I was playing with the Photoshop "Blend" tool to do the shading on the bronto and the cheerful fellow in the derby hat. I bet if I knew how to paint, I could make some really cool looking pictures. Have you noticed how good the coloring is in today's comic books? It's not just flat colors, it is full of shading and transparent effects and lightning flashes - all done in Photoshop.

The blue background is just a gradient fill, an easy effect. I saw a nice piece of artwork with a woman in white fur, the fur was not painted itself, only the objects around it were shown, I thought it was a nice result. My attempt didn't turn out quite as fascinating.

You've probably heard of the famous book and subsequent movie: Interview with the Vampire. Well, here is my Interview with the Monster. I like how his teeth and mouth turned out, all nasty looking. The microphones are another example of the gradient fill command.
